The Maine Historical Commission augmented funds for the initial renovation of the Marshall Point Lighthouse. However, beyond the initial renovation, we receive no Town, State or Federal funding. All of our work is funded through the generosity of our visitors and lovers of our Lighthouse.
In addition to the extensive tasks associated with the Lighthouse specifically, in 2005, we saw a local need for a Scholarship program to help the students of St. George. In answer to that need, the board instituted a Scholarship Fund, providing much-needed assistance to young adults. This program is also funded completely through donations to the Museum.
The Marshall Point Lighthouse operates under the St. George Historical Society, a 501(c) 3 tax exempt, non-profit. All donations are tax deductible. You may make donations when you visit the lighthouse, or send donations directly to the Lighthouse: P.O. Box 247, Port Clyde, Maine 04855.
To donate historical items to the museum related to Marshall Point Lighthouse or St. George Peninsula life: quarrying, lobstering, fishing, post cards, photos, diaries, equipment, etc., please contact Curator Nat Lyon.
